See the 50 Most Influential Tall Buildings of the Last 50 Years

 

 In the late 1960s, skyscrapers saw ever more innovations and acceleration, and the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) emerged, aiming to study and present the continuous rapid changes in the design and engineering of tall buildings. Looking back, the CTBUH has selected 50 best practices for tall buildings that represent major changes in thinking or technologies over the past five decades.

In October 2019, the Shanghai Tower was among the 50 most influential tall buildings released by the CTBUH. This was the second international honor received by the Shanghai Tower that year, apart from the BOMA International Global Innovation Award in the first half of the year, and also the second honor from the CTBUH. The first one, the Best Tall Building Worldwide, was received in 2016.
